Press Release August 15, 2011
Call it a marriage made in ultra-heaven.
INKnBURN, the nation’s leader in artistic apparel for endurance athletes, and Keira Henninger -- one of Southern California’s top race directors, and an elite ultrarunner herself -- have announced a partnership that will enable athletes nationwide to reap the benefits of both parties’ core strengths.
INKnBURN and Henninger – famous for her never-can-die spirit and blinding smile, even when facing 30 more miles during a particularly brutal 100-miler --- are well positioned to bring high-quality apparel and events to the endurance community.
“Both INKnBURN and Keira share a passion for excellence, quality and innovation, so this partnership is a natural fit for us,” said Rob Tsuyuki, owner of INKnBURN in Foothill Ranch, Calif. “We couldn’t be more excited to have someone of Keira’s talent, character and vision join our team.”
Henninger will be working with INKnBURN on marketing and communications. She also will serve as a link to the running community, promoting INKnBURN’s expanding line of products, including its new line of sporty and one-of-a-kind running shorts for men and women.
“This new partnership offers an exciting future for our like-minded community of athletes,” said Megan Tsuyuki, co-owner of INKnBURN. “We create extremely high quality and innovative athletic apparel, while Keira creates top-notch athletic events. Runners can’t say enough about how professional and exciting her races are. And they perform and look their best while running in our apparel.”
INKnBURN will support Henninger’s races and work with her on making them even more exciting. INKnBURN will be designing a custom shirt specifically for Henninger’s first-ever Griffith Park Trial Half Marathon Run, to be held Nov. 12 in the hills near Hollywood. Every person who competes in the race will receive this collector’s edition shirt.
“I’m so excited to be working with such amazing people as Rob and Megan,” Henninger said. Our values and vision for where this company can go are very well aligned. I’ve been a fan of INKnBURN since I discovered their amazing running shirts, and I can’t wait to bring my energy to help take their company to the next level. This is going to be a blast!”
About INKnBURN:
INKnBURN is composed of an efficient group of people who are devoted to designing and creating innovative, high-quality and hand-crafted apparel. Their preference is to design for those who don’t want to blend in with the crowd and look like everyone else. Ever notice that in that huge crowd at the start of a race you see maybe 10 different shirts? They decided to change that. INKnBURN also knows that beauty is only skin deep, and that apparel has to be well crafted, high quality, and feel as good as it looks. They started with the athletes that demand the most from their tech shirts: endurance runners. If you can design a shirt that a person could wear for a 100-mile race and still stay comfortable and cool, it will work for any other athletic endeavor. Since then, they’ve added tank tops, sports bras and sleeveless shirts. There’s even more in the works that they’ll announce as it’s perfected.
INKnBURN’s fabrics are super lightweight, breathable and made from the highest-quality wicking soft poly. Their unique process enables them to get beautiful, vibrant images that you can see but not feel. It also gives the INB artists the freedom to create designs on their athletic apparel you won’t find anywhere else on the planet. Bottom line, the design, fit and feel of INKnBURN performance apparel is second to none.
