Jeans? I like IT!

When I was out this weekend with all the single ladies, I noticed that every store had a different type of jean for sale and every dude wore a different kind. Not that I was checking out DOODS IN JEANS, loser, get that out of you head. BUT, It is STILL blowing up.

There are so many types of jeans and actually tons of cool ones for all different types of folks. I still see the big hip-hop style oversized jeans. I see them on a lot of the Asian Urban Culture folks. I still see a lot of the stylized ones that are not supposed to look that way, guido ones. I see the tight Euro ones that have GOT to mean they are smaller than us here you know where. I still see tons of 501s on dad’s and grads. I have recently seen an uptick AGAIN in the pre- destroyed ones with all kinda rips and tears no normal man could put in jeans from use. Those things are so lame in my opinon but, clearly I am the douche who knows nuthin’ cause they is everyWHERE! And of course I see the kind that are like low-bootcut semi-normal looking American jeans. Also, what I see coming up now is CUSTOM jeans. Jeans that you add stuff to that nobody else even thought of. It’s a whole new world out there but, still the denim holds true.

I don’t think there is a more universal appeal for any product than there is for denim jeans.

Del Amo Fashion Center….. ROCKS?

OK, so this weekend I went to the So Fresh Market which is located at the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, CA. and I was impressed with what was going on there. Those folks had their ACT TOGETHER! There was tons of fresh fruit and vegetables to test, taste and purchase as well as several pre-prepared food stands with all kinds of snacks and sandwiches. It went from the very exotic like special mangoes to bountiful local produce which looked and tasted so fresh….. Ohhhhhhhh. CAUGHT myself! SO FRESH!?!?!?!?

Also, there was another treat. There was a Taiko Drumming group called Zendeko. They are from Downtown LA and really do have the rhythm down. They seem like just a bunch of kids standing around but, you get that thing going and it is no WONDER they jammed with KORN on the Tonight Show last month and have done TONS of other cool gigs all over the country. Check this out:

Of course, I ended my evening in Santa Barbara, eating at this joint on upper State Street. The Tee Off has the kind of menu you would expect John Gotti to love and I had a monster NY Steak that tasted like that mid-west corn-fed beef. A nice change out west here. It was so old school they still had potato skins on the menu and you could tell they prided themselves on the Rob Roys the bartender poured. If you are ever in Santa Barbara and want to eat at a place that HAS nuts instead of one that tries to replace meat WITH nuts do the Tee Off.
