Boy, I went and saw a boxing match this weekend and it was just….OK. Vitali Klitschko really beat down slowly the likes of Chris Arreola. Not just for his last name but, because it was too easy. I am not sure I saw Klitschko raise his arms for more than 10 seconds the entire fight. Except to punch Arreola. He essentially had zero defense and sort of lead with his chin but, it didn’t matter cause he barely took a hit.
They went around the ring in a circle and Klitschko just methodically took apart his opponent. Eventually they just stopped the fight. The other guy’s face was just like a worn catcher’s mitt. Blood all over, a real mess and a disgrace to his fans. But in a good way. Which brings me to the question of why has boxing lost so many fans and viewers to the MMA stuff. I think it is fights like these. I am not sure there were any real solid punches the whole time. I mean, maybe but nothing really well executed or nothing that took the crowds breath away. Heck, it seemed like Arreola was keeping up with the massive champion punch for punch until they showed the “punches landed” stat and it wasn’t even close. But to the average viewer and fan of violence, like me, it wasn’t all that great.
It was fun to be downtown though for a big event. Of course Mike Tyson was there, Rocky was there…you know, Sly? LL Cool J was there, and AHHHNULD as well. He looked really good and like he was enjoying the fight and sitting next to Sly talking and laughing like a real fan. I scoped it out. We had real good seats but not good enough to take a good picture with my iPhrustrator!

But, I did get this wacky photo of people waiting at LA Live to buy tickets for a Michael Jackson tribute MOVIE (YES MOVIE) that is still a week away. Wow, Michael Jackson. Jeez. I don’t want to give my opinion on this. Just….think about it!!
